Warrensburg – Furniture Factory Outlet will open this fall in the former Office Depot Building, 133 E. Parsons,
across from the Walmart Super Center.
Company spokesman Braden Fouts said the store, which sells furniture at discount prices, will open Oct. 6.
Haag Brown Development purchased the building on July 6 and is reconfiguring the space for the new business.
In a press release, Joshua Brown, Haag Brown Commercial principal, said, “The growth of this market over the past few years has been impressive. It was no question that FFO needed to be a part of it. He said, “The vacant Office Depot provided a great entry to the market.”
The release noted that Warrensburg’s population has been increasing steadily.
FFO Home President and CEO Larry Zigerelli “liked the location” for the Warrensburg store, Fouts said, adding, “It seemed like a great spot.”
The location, also in close proximity to Applebee’s, Lowe’s, Buffalo Wild Wings and Aldi’s has exposure to more than 16,000 cars per day.
Fouts said renovations are under way at the 20,500-square-foot building and the company will host a hiring event on Aug. 2 in conjunction with the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce.
The company anticipates hiring eight to 10 people to staff the store, he said.“We will try to staff it with Warrensburg residents as much as we can,” Fouts said. He said the company “has the lowest prices in the industry”and makes its own brand of mattresses, Natural Elements. “We have a lot of American-made furniture,” Fouts said, and also one-of-kind accent items.
The company’s new owner, Sun Capital, “has aggressive growth plans,” he said, and Warrensburg is among several locations where new stores will open this fall.
The Warrensburg store will be FFO Homes’ 45th store, he said. The company has several other stores in Missouri, including Sedalia, as well as in Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Texas, Mississippi and Tennessee and is “looking to grow,” Fouts said.
“We’re excited about opening another store,” he said.
