FFO Home Acquires Service Furniture & Bedding Inc.
FFO Home of Fort Smith announced Wednesday that it has acquired Service Furniture & Bedding Inc., an operator of home furnishings and bedding retailers in the greater Louisville, Kentucky, area.
The acquisition includes 13 stores operating under the Furniture Liquidators banner and 15 Mattress & More stores. FFO Home said the deal puts it among the top 50 home furnishing retailers.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The company said it’s the first acquisition since it received an investment from an affiliate of private equity firm Sun Capital Partners Inc. in 2016.
“Both of these brands have enjoyed strong leadership positions for many years,” Larry Zigerelli, president and CEO of FFO Home, said in a news release. “Furniture Liquidators provides us strong critical mass in one of our key expansion markets, and fits us strategically as a leading value-oriented retailer. Mattress & More provides an important platform to accelerate the growth of our vertically integrated bedding business.”
FFO Home opened its 47th location in December, and operates retail stores in Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee, Mississippi and Kansas. The company also makes bedding under the Comfort Coil and Natural Elements brands.
FFO Home moved its headquarters to Fort Smith in 2015.
