Tacos 4 Life of Conway said Tuesday that it has expanded into Oklahoma, with a restaurant scheduled to open in Tulsa in mid-2019.
“It is a special accomplishment for our team when we have the opportunity to bring our brand and mission to a new state,” restaurant co-founder Austin Samuelson said in a news release. “We are honored and blessed to continue spreading our meal for meal concept across the country. Tulsa will have the opportunity to change many children’s lives while enjoying some great food.”
The taco restaurant, which donates 22 cents to the nonprofit Feed My Starving Children for every meal sold, is already operating in four states — Arkansas, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. It opened its first restaurant in 2014 in Conway.
The Tacos 4 Life Tulsa store, at 10732 Memorial Drive, will be the company’s 17th store. It worked with Haag Brown Commercial Real Estate of Jonesboro on the development.
“We anticipate the Tulsa store to be the first of many locations throughout Oklahoma,” said Joshua Brown, principal for Haag Brown.
Arkansas Business reported in 2017 that the company was aiming to grow its geographic footprint. The company’s website says that total initial investment necessary to begin operation of Tacos 4 Life franchise ranges from $511,466 to $737,400 and that franchise candidates and their partners/investors must have a combined liquid capital of at least $150,000 and a combined net worth of at least $600,000.
