Haag Brown Commercial is excited to announce that after over a decade, Tuesday Morning is returning to Jonesboro! The retailer will be joining Ross in anchoring the Highland Square Shopping Center re-development at the corner of Caraway Road and Highland Drive.
“We are beyond excited to make this announcement and welcome Tuesday Morning back to Jonesboro. Cities across the nation are experiencing the closing of national retailers. We are going to celebrate bucking this trend.” Josuha Brown | Haag Brown Commercial Principal
Tuesday Morning is a discount retail chain specializing in bringing top-quality, domestic and international, name-brand home decor to shoppers at 20-60% off department store prices. The company was started in a warehouse in Dallas, Texas in 1974 and has grown to over 700 stores across the country.
The company was drawn back to Jonesboro because Arkansas, as a whole, is a great market for Tuesday Morning where they have strong brand awareness. Jonesboro pulls from a large geographic area that was a hole in their store base.
However, the store will be much different than it was 10 years ago.
“We are very excited about our long-awaited return to the home of Arkansas State University. With our new prototype, this Tuesday Morning store will be much larger and better located than our previous store on Highland Drive, offering our Jonesboro customers an entirely different shopping experience. They are in for a real treat!” Shannon Brannum | Tuesday Morning District Manager
As mentioned, the store will be much larger, occupying the 17,730 square feet adjacent to Bargain Hunt. As for the location, the signalized intersection of Highland and Caraway has been the epicenter for new restaurant and retail growth within the last year, adding Smoothie King, Tommy’s Carwash, Texas Roadhouse, etc. within the last 12 months.
“We feel the location is truly “main and main” in the market and the store will be highly visible and easily accessible.” Shannon Brannum | Tuesday Morning District Manager
Haag Brown Commercial represented the Highland Square center’s ownership group, Phillips Investments & Construction, Inc. in securing the lease. They also worked closely with Steve Greenberg of The Retail Connection in Dallas who represented Tuesday Morning.
“Tuesday Morning would not be a reality in Jonesboro if not for the willingness of the Phillips family to make the deal work. They have not only helped bring a very desirable retailer to the market, but have largely contributed to the complete transformation of this major intersection. We are excited to see what the future holds for this area and look forward to working on more projects with the Phillips family.” Joshua Brown | Haag Brown Commercial Principal
Construction is set to begin immediately with an expected opening in the second quarter of 2019. Haag Brown Commercial has 2-3 more exciting deals in the pipeline to announce at the Highland Square Shopping Center in the coming weeks.
