(KAIT) – A new fitness studio is making colorful tracks to Northeast Arkansas.
Haag Brown Commercial Real Estate and Development announced Wednesday that Orange Theory Fitness will open a studio at Anita’s Park on Fair Park Boulevard in Jonesboro.
According to a news release, the “Orange Theory” is a one-hour, full-body workout that utilizes heart rate-based interval training. Participants wear heart rate monitors, and their real-time results are displayed on large screens throughout the studio.
The 3,225 square-foot space will be the seventh Orange Theory studio in Arkansas. It’s expected to open later this year.
Joshua Brown, with Haag Brown Commercial, said it is a business they’ve been working on bringing to Region 8 for about three years.
“It’s a theory of exercise that’s very unique,” Brown said. “They’re a nationwide business with hundreds of locations. They know exactly who their customers are. My family and I go to those gyms when we’re on vacation.”
Brown said they were originally talking about a site to build on.
“We were looking at the land where Tacos for Life is at,” Brown said. “When we were showing them existing space in the market they were able to find this space and were able to get them in quicker and for less money.”
Brown said he believes the new business will do well.
“I’ve been chasing Orange Theory for years because they are such a cool company and will be a great addition to Jonesboro,” said Joshua Brown, principal of Haag Brown Commercial. “Selfishly, I want them here for me and my friend and family. We are huge fans and visit Orange Theory locations any time we can while traveling.”
