Haag Brown Commercial is excited to announce that U.S. Pizza Company, an Arkansas based restaurant known for its award winning thin crust pizza and old fashioned stone hearth ovens, will be joining the Highlands Shopping Center.
The Highlands shopping center sits on 7 acres at the intersection of Highland Drive and Red Wolf Boulevard and has been a landmark in Jonesboro’s retail market for decades. Over the past several months, the center has undergone extensive renovations, which are nearing completion.
U.S. Pizza has been one of the most requested restaurants across all of Haag Brown Commercial’s social media outlets and the U.S. Pizza Company franchise owner is excited about bringing their concept to Jonesboro. “We have been looking at the Jonesboro market for the last few years and we are very excited about the new location. It has been a great experience working with Garrett at Haag Brown. We are looking forward to being part of this great city,” said the owner.
“The Red Wolf / Highland intersection is ground zero for retail commerce in the Jonesboro trade area,” noted Haag Brown Commercial Principal Joshua Brown. “The other three corners are fully developed, so we are expecting the Highlands to be a logical landing spot for new restaurants entering the market.”
Zac Qualls of Haag Brown Commercial manages the property for G & P Development, LLC and has overseen its redevelopment. “It has been a pleasure working with G & P Development on rebranding one of the most well-known shopping centers in Jonesboro,” said Zac. “We are all excited to push this renovation across the finish line and put quality tenants into the center like U.S. Pizza. The center will have great synergy and I believe it really shows with our tenant mix.”
U.S. Pizza Company will occupy the 6,000 square foot western end-cap that faces Highland Drive and has been the long time home of Fuji’s Japanese Steakhouse, who will be transitioning into the space behind the new pizza restaurant. Signage for Fuji’s new location within the center is already in place.
Garrett McPherson of Haag Brown Commercial represents U.S. Pizza Company and assisted them in securing a space within The Highlands. “We worked for almost two years to find the perfect location for U.S. Pizza,” said Garrett. “Once we found out that Fuji’s was going to make the move from their current location, our search was over. I don’t think there is a better site in Jonesboro for U.S. Pizza to open its first store. The renovated Highlands will be a huge draw for all of Jonesboro.”
Construction within the space will begin as soon as Fuji’s relocates and the restaurant is expected to open in the summer of 2017. Another national restaurant announcement is coming soon to The Highlands.
ABOUT U.S. PIZZA COMPANY
It all started in 1972, when owner Judy Waller opened her first U.S. Pizza Company in a burned out clock shop in Levy, AR. Armed with a unique recipe for thin crust pizza and an old fashioned stone hearth oven, U.S. Pizza embarked on a quarter-of-a-century journey that has done everything but dwindle.
Since we opened our first store in 1972, we’ve been making our thin crust pizza from scratch when you order it. And we still use stone hearth ovens. That’s one of the reasons our unique pizzas are worth the wait!
We pride ourselves in offering you the very best pizza, salads and sandwiches, and we value your patronage. Click the Awards tab to read more about our tasty history, distinguishing awards, and community involvement.
