Haag Brown Commercial is excited to announce that one of the most talked about and highly requested restaurants across social media is making its way to Jonesboro. Golden Corral, known as America’s #1 buffet and grill, will be locating to the former Western Sizzlin’ building adjacent to both Lowe’s and Ross on Highland Drive.

The intersection of Highland and Caraway has been the epicenter for new restaurant and retail growth, adding Smoothie King, Tommy’s Carwash, Texas Roadhouse, Bargain Hunt, Tuesday Morning, Ross and Play-It-Again Sports within the last 12 months.

Haag Brown Commercial procured a long-term lease between the building’s owners, Highland Square, Inc., and The Buffet Joint, LLC, who will be the local franchisee owners of Golden Corral.

However, the Buffet Joint, LLC is no stranger to Jonesboro. This group operates over half a dozen restaurants across the city including the Dairy Queens at Hilltop and Highland, Uncle Maddio’s Pizza, Smoothie King, and Schlotzskys.

The opening of Golden Corral brings with it 160 new jobs. The Buffet Joint, LLC will be interviewing all current employees and managers of the Western Sizzlin’ franchise for rehire within Golden Corral, as well as, the group’s other restaurants across the city.

Prior to opening, the 8,700 square foot Western Sizzlin’ building will undergo a comprehensive remodel that includes both signature exterior and interior elements.  Guests will first notice the stacked stone exterior and welcoming entrance.  Upon entering, they will experience a roomier dining area that will accommodate over 280 guests, featuring a stone fireplace, all new furniture and fixtures, and contemporary décor.

The food presentation will also be enhanced with new buffet bars for the 150+ items served daily, an expansive carvery, and tiled walls that resemble a residential kitchen. Some of the most popular areas include the fresh salad bar, grill house, and bakery.

The complete remodel is set to begin immediately with Golden Corral expected to open in the fourth quarter of this year.
