HB Announces Steak ‘n Shake Coming to Jonesboro
Haag Brown Commercial is excited to announce that one of the most talked about and highly requested restaurants across social media is making their way to Jonesboro. Steak ‘n Shake, famous for their prime steak burgers and hand-dipped milk shakes, will be locating to a site on Parker Road beside Colton’s Steakhouse.
“We have been bombarded on social media for years with requests to bring Steak ‘n Shake back to Jonesboro,” said Haag Brown Commercial Principal Josuha Brown. “Selfishly, my whole family loves Steak ‘n Shake. It’s where my daughter chooses to eat for her birthday and a meal we look forward to when on vacation. Secondly, I have friends who have tagged me over and over again with requests to bring Steak ‘n Shake to Jonesboro. Finally, social media. Wow! Our social media audience has been VOCAL about who they want in our city. We try to gauge that activity and when we do, Steak ‘n Shake is always among the most requested names.”
P & H Investments, LLC, a local investment group represented by Joshua Brown of Haag Brown Commercial, purchased the property on Monday from Spencer Property Inc. Jason Gazaway of Gazaway & White Real Estate represented the property’s seller. Haag Brown Commercial also procured a long-term lease commitment from Burger Joint, LLC, who will be the local owners of Steak ‘n Shake.
Haag Brown hosted the owners of Steak ‘n Shake to approve the location early this summer. While in town, discussions were had about how much the company had changed since they were located in Jonesboro several years ago.
“Back then the company was similar to 5 Guys,” noted Joshua. “They had burgers and shakes and were more expensive than most competitors in their category. Now, Steak ‘n Shake has focused on being the least expensive option while maintaining the best burger in the fast food sector. I can attest to both. My family of 4 has eaten there several times for less than $20. We can’t do that at McDonald’s. And, it is one of our family’s absolute favorite places to eat in any category.”
Haag Brown Commercial held a press conference today where they revealed renderings of the modern 3,000 square foot restaurant.
Within the last 18 months, this area along I-555 has become recognized as Jonesboro’s top entertainment district. The longstanding Malco Hollywood Theater continues to be a major draw for customers across Northeast Arkansas. Hijinx Family Entertainment Center just completed the expansion of their facility which includes the addition of a foam factory, lasertron arena, rope obstacle course, 4 story contained play area, and updated arcade. Ultimate Air, a 10,000+ square foot indoor trampoline park, and Lockdown, The Escape Room opened in the market last year.
“Steak ‘n Shake will be the perfect addition to this area,” said Haag Brown Commercial Principal Greg Haag. “We are a college town but most restaurants close by 10 pm leaving students, movie goers, sporting event spectators, etc. without any dining options. It will definitely fill this large gap in our market. ”
Construction is set to begin immediately with an expected opening in the first quarter of 2018.
