NEW SLIM CHICKENS STORE COMING TO THE HIGHLANDS
Haag Brown Commercial is excited to announce that Slim Chickens, an Arkansas based restaurant with a mission to bring a dose of southern hospitality to a fast, casual setting, will be occupying the Highlands Shopping Center’s first out pad.
“We have been involved with Slim Chickens for a long time. I used to regularly eat at one of the original locations in Conway and it was the first restaurant I ever tried to bring to Jonesboro. Although the franchisee ended up leasing space from extended family, I knew there would be other opportunities to assist the growing company. We are excited to be a part of bringing their first free-standing store to Jonesboro.” Joshua Brown | Haag Brown Commercial Principal
Slim Chickens’ Managing Partner, Howard Martindale, is dedicated to improving the look and location of his stores.
“With easy access from both Red Wolf Boulevard and Highland Drive, additional seating, an outdoor patio, and a more suitable drive thru, this new store will allow us to better serve our customers.”
The Highlands Shopping Center sits on 7 acres at the intersection of Highland Drive and Red Wolf Boulevard and has been a landmark in Jonesboro’s retail market for decades. Over the past several months, the center has undergone extensive renovations and added a host of new businesses.
Zac Qualls of Haag Brown Commercial manages the property for G & P Development, LLC and has overseen its redevelopment.
“It has been a pleasure working with G & P Development on rebranding one of the most well- known shopping centers in Jonesboro,” said Zac. “This group has done an amazing job of securing quality tenants in the center like Slim Chickens. They’ve created an entirely new vibe for the center and, as a result, it’s daily traffic has increased dramatically.”
Slim Chickens will sit at the center’s Highland Drive entrance, just east of U.S. Pizza. Two buildings were torn down in order to make room for the 2,400 square foot, free-standing building which will be the second store constructed featuring the brand’s new modern design.
“G & P Development is improving the look of the entire area by replacing two dilapidated buildings with an attractive new restaurant. Slim Chickens is joining a development whose current restaurants, U.S. Pizza, Fuji’s and TJ’s Burgers, are performing extremely well. This is a win-win for everyone involved.” Joshua Brown | Haag Brown Commercial Principal
Construction is set to begin soon and Slim Chickens is expected to open in the Fall of 2018. Another national restaurant announcement is coming soon to The Highlands.
